OAKLAND – Warriors forward Brandon Rush, out to prove he is fully recovered from knee surgery, will miss the rest of the preseason and probably the season opener next week.
It's not his surgically repaired left knee. It's his lower back. The Warriors say he has a sacral stress reaction and will miss at least another week.
"Given that he won't have practiced all week, I won't imagine that he'll play in the opener,'' coach Steve Kerr said prior to Tuesday night's game against the Clippers.
Rush was a very good reserve for the Warriors prior to wrecking his knee in the second game of the 2012-13 season. Traded to Utah last summer as part of the deal that brought Andre Iguodala to the Warriors, Rush three months ago signed a free agent deal to come back.
