Editor's note: This article is part of an ongoing series in which Monte Poole will highlight a different Warriors player every day leading up to the start of training camp
Player: Jarell Eddie
Position: Shooting guard/small forward
Salary: $845,000 one-year contract that secures an invitation to camp.
2014-15 in review: After going undrafted in 2014, Eddie spent most of last season in the D-League, playing for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants and the Austin Spurs. The 6-foot-7 Virginia Tech product won the D-League 3-point shooting contest during All-Star Weekend.
Though he signed a 10-day contract in March with the Atlanta Hawks, Eddie did not appear in a game. The Hawks declined to sign him to a second 10-day deal.
2015-16 outlook: The Warriors will search the globe for a player who can score, particularly if he can drain it from deep, and that’s why they invited Eddie to camp.
Eddie has true wing length, with some scouts considering him a poor man’s version of San Antonio guard Danny Green. But he’s one of four or five players competing for what likely will be one spot on the roster.
