Stephen Curry had an MVP-like performance Thursday night in a win over the Trail Blazers, scoring 45 points and recording 10 assists, while also breaking the NBA's single-season 3-point record.
Four-time NBA Champion and broadcaster Shaquille O'Neal was awestruck by Curry's showing, declaring him the league's MVP after the game.
"And since we're on the subject of Curry, we might as well give him that MVP trophy now," Shaq said, pulling out his version of the NBA MVP trophy from underneath the desk. "That boy is a bad mother, shut yo mouth...
"Here you go, MVP," sliding the trophy forward and waving his hand in front. "It's all yours, Curry. That was fun to watch right there, boy."
After the commercial break, the camera panned to Shaq holding a mug up to the trophy, prompting his colleagues to ask what he was doing: "I'm feeding Stephen Curry."
Curry is in a tight race for MVP with James Harden of the Houston Rockets, but Shaq, who won the award in 2000, is not second-guessing who the honor belongs to this year.
