President Barack Obama isn't shy about his love for Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.
But over the last few years, Obama has become very close with Warriors point guard Stephen Curry.
When the Warriors visited the White House on Feb. 4, Obama singled out Curry and his performance the night before against the Wizards in which the reigning MVP scored 51 points.
"Steph's a pretty good shooter," Obama started. "For those of you who watched the game against the Wizards last night, he was, to use slang, he was 'clowning.'"
During a recent interview with TIME and Misty Copeland, the principal dancer for the American Ballet Theater, Obama took his praise for Curry one step further.
"Steph Curry is the greatest shooter that I’ve ever seen," Obama declared.
"I am having more fun watching him than anybody since Michael Jordan," Obama said.
But is Curry better than Jordan?
"Even Steph wouldn't necessarily say he's better than Jordan, but the fact that he's about my size and doing what he's doing...," Obama said.
After winning the MVP in 2015 while scoring 23.8 points per game, Curry has increased his scoring to 30.5 points per contest through March 13.
"It’s rare where you get somebody who’s already at the pinnacle and then they take it a notch higher," Obama said.
