In College Park on Saturday to watch No. 4 Maryland beat No. 18 Purdue, 72-61, legendary Maryland coach Lefty Driesell spoke one-on-one with CSN's Chick Hernandez about a range of topics, an interview that you saw in Saturday's 10 p.m. edition of SportsNet Central.
One topic the two hit on? Former Davidson star and reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry, who just this week dropped 51 points on the Washington Wizards.
Maybe Driesell is biased when it comes to Curry. He did, you know, coach the Davidson Wildcats from 1960-69. He even recruited Curry's father, Dell, to College Park, but lost out on the future NBA guard to Virginia Tech.
"The game has changed so much, but we got a guy named Steph Curry who played at Davidson back in the day and now is ripping up the NBA," Hernandez said, prefacing his question. "When you watch a guy like that, what do you think?"
