The Warriors and Clippers don't like each other.
This much we know.
Prior to Golden State's 110-106 win over Los Angeles on Tuesday night, the teams' head coaches added fuel to the fire.
It started when Steve Kerr said that Draymond Green (who did not suit up) would have been uniform if the game "meant something" to the Warriors.
Rivers fired back by saying, "That was pretty predictable. We kind of assumed they didn't want to take the risk of going 2-2 (in the head-to-head season series) with their regular guys."
When Kerr was notified about Rivers' comments, the Western Conference Coach of the Month for March had a sarcastic response.
"Either that or we have a nine-game lead (in the Western Conference) with a couple guys banged up," Kerr said while chuckling. "It's somewhere in there."
During Draymond Green's weekly appearance on KNBR 680-AM Wednesday night, Tom Tolbert and CSNBayArea.com Senior Insider Ray Ratto played the audio of Kerr's retort to the Warriors' power forward.
"I love Coach Kerr's response," Green "That's my coach. Coach Kerr's a goon. The way he responded to that. I hadn't heard it. That was incredible."
Throughout the season, Kerr has referred to Green as the Warriors' "heartbeat," and claimed that the restricted free agent "is gonna be a part of this franchise for the next 8-10 years."
