Damian Lillard grew up in Oakland and attended Oakland High School.
On Wednesday afternoon, one of his fans tweeted the following:
"So everyone in the #NBA is going to their hometown team? @Dame_Lillard @J1Flight y'all next??? #Oakland"
About 15 minutes later, Lillard responded with a two-word tweet of his own:
Another person then chimed in by saying: "In that case you losing in the playoffs the next 10 years."
The Warriors eliminated Lillard and the Blazers from the playoffs last season.
Lillard is coming off the best season of his career, in which he averaged 25.1 points and 6.8 assists per game. He was named Second-Team All-NBA despite being snubbed from the All-Star Game.
The soon-to-be 26-year old (his birthday is on Friday) is entering Year 1 of a 5-year deal with Portland worth just under $140 million.
The Blazers selected Lillard with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2012 draft. The Warriors then took Harrison Barnes with the 7th pick.
