Sharks goalie Alex Stalock had left knee surgery on Thursday in the Bay Area, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
Stalock, 26, has been placed on injured reserve.
“Quick little surgery, no big deal,” Stalock said in a text message to Comcast SportsNet’s Brodie Brazil.
Rookie Troy Grosenick was recalled from AHL Worcester, and acted as Antti Niemi’s backup for Thursday’s game in Tampa Bay.
Stalock, in his second full NHL season, is 2-2-1 with a 2.38 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage in five games.
