Sharks-Lightning coverage starts tonight at 7:00 p.m. with Sharks Pregame Live on CSN California
Where they stand
Sharks: 14-11-0, 28 points, 2nd Pacific Division
Lightning: 12-11-3, 27 points, 6th Atlantic Division
Sharks: Mike Santorelli scored the only goal on Friday night in Anaheim’s 1-0 win over San Jose at Honda Center. The Sharks saw their seven-game road winning streak come to an end, and have lost three of four overall. After tonight, seven of the Sharks’ next eight games are on the road, including a back-to-back in Calgary and Edmonton next week.
Lightning: Tampa Bay kicked off a three-game swing through California by beating the Ducks at Honda Center on Wednesday, 2-1. Overall, the Lightning, who visit the Kings tomorrow, have won four of their last six games (4-2-0).
Keep an eye on…
Sharks: Brenden Dillon. The 25-year-old defenseman will likely take the injured Marc-Edouard Vlasic’s place on the blue line paired with Justin Braun, so expect him to see a lot of the Lightning’s first line featuring leading scorer Steven Stamkos (11 goals, 8 assists).
Lightning: Victor Hedman. The second overall pick in the 2009 draft, the towering six-foot-six defenseman paces the Lightning in ice time at 22:07 per game. He has 13 points (2g, 11a) in 25 games, and his +6 rating is tied for the team lead.
