Programming note: Sharks-Ducks coverage starts tonight at 6:30pm with Sharks Pregame Live on CSN California.
Where they stand
Sharks: 26-18-4, 56 points, 2nd Pacific Division
Ducks: 22-18-7, 51 points, 4th Pacific Division
Sharks: The Sharks went into the All-Star break on a high note, spanking Colorado at home one week ago, 6-1. Joe Thornton recorded two assists to reach 1300 points in his career, while Dylan DeMelo got his first career marker. San Jose has at least one point in its last 10 games (8-0-2), and begins a difficult four-game road trip tonight that continues on to St. Louis, Nashville and Chicago.
Ducks: Anaheim scored a season-high six goals in a 6-2 win in Boston last Tuesday. The Ducks have won three straight, five of their last six (5-1-0), and are 10-3-1 in their last 14. Although it is still last in the league in goals-per game, Anaheim has 23 scores in its last four games.
Keep an eye on…
Sharks: Logan Couture. Now that he’s had another full week of rest, Couture should be at or very close to full health for the second half. The Sharks are 12-3-3 with the centerman in the lineup, and he has 20 points (10g, 10a) in 27 career games against the Ducks.
Ducks: David Perron. Anaheim acquired the 27-year-old winger from Pittsburgh on Jan. 15, and he has at least one point in all four games he’s played for the Ducks (2g, 3a). He has 17 points (8g, 9a) in 30 career games vs. San Jose.
