Amari Cooper is the quiet type. He hasn’t been particularly demonstrative during practices open to the press, and he certainly isn’t gregarious before a camera bank.
He’s made a solid first impression on those who work with him most. Cooper’s attitude and immense talent has given the Raiders confidence they made the right choice at No. 4 overall.
Talent isn’t something taken for granted. Cooper puts tremendous effort into his work.
“I want to prove that I can be a player to who brings it every day,” Cooper said in a video posted on the team website. “The goal is to own my craft and sharpen my blade every day. I want what’s best for my teammates, so we can all come out and have a great season.”
Cooper understands that he’s one cog in a large machine that must function well after upgrades at receiver and tight end.
“On offense, we’re trying to be great,” Cooper said. "We’re trying to become cohesive and learn plays. We have chance of winning. I really do.”
Despite only being a Raider for a few months, he already has the Silver and Black lingo down.
“I’m ready,” Cooper said, “to just win, baby.”
