ALAMEDA – Lost in all the Aldon Smith talk was that 52 other Raiders were preparing to play their regular-season opener on Sunday against the visiting Cincinnati Bengals.
Well, 51 anyway. Defensive end/linebacker Benson Mayowa missed a week’s practice with a knee strain and was formally ruled out of this weekend’s game at O.co Coliseum.
Everyone else is healthy. Receiver Andre Holmes (hand), defensive end Justin Tuck (calf) and tight end Clive Walford (knee) were listed as probable on the team’s official injury report and will play against the Bengals.
Smith is healthy and “looks like he’s been working,” according to head coach Jack Del Rio. Though things can change, odds are good Smith will play in some capacity on Sunday against the Bengals.
