It all started with a message from the NFL's official Twitter account:
"The @Broncos D? It currently rules the AFC West," the @NFL tweeted on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday morning, the Raiders issued a one word response:
"Ruled*"
The Broncos fired back a couple of hours later with an emoji and a picture of John Elway and Gary Kubiak smiling.
Nearly five hours later, the Raiders responded again:
".@Broncos don't say we didn't warn you:" with a video of Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin practicing spin moves and flexing.
Denver won the Super Bowl last season as its defense held Carolina's vaunted offense to just 10 points.
The Broncos beat the Raiders in Oakland on Oct. 11, 16-10.
The Silver and Black went to Denver on Dec. 13 and upset the Broncos, 15-12.
Denver has won five straight AFC West titles. Oakland hasn't captured the division crown since 2002.
The Raiders host the Broncos on Nov. 6 and play in Denver to close out the regular season on New Year's Day.
