NAPA – Linebacker Sio Moore was placed on the active/physically unable to perform list shortly after checking to Raiders training camp on Sunday. He wasn’t out for long.
The third-year pro joined his team for Saturday morning’s practice, the second full-squad workout at this camp.
That’s a positive sign for a player who underwent major hip surgery early in the offseason and recovered enough to participate late in the offseason program. He missed the final workout of a mandatory minicamp that concluded offseason work, but had to wait a few days before becoming active in this camp.
Moore was full-go on Saturday, and working almost exclusively with the second team.
Moore is expected to start at weakside linebacker, though he spent his rookie year on the strong side and could certainly play there if Khalil Mack spends significant time at defensive end.
Moore was the only Raider absent Friday to re-join the squad. Receiver Rod Streater and running back Trent Richardson remain on the active/non-football illness list. Defensive tackle Stacy McGee and return man Trindon Holliday are still on PUP. The four aforementioned players were placed on their respective lists on Friday.
