ALAMEDA –- Raiders center Rodney Hudson was back at practice on Thursday, an encouraging sign for his playing status in Sunday’s game against his former team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
It was Hudson’s first non-walk-thru effort since Nov. 19, the Thursday before he played against the Detroit Lions after battling an ankle sprain the week before. He aggravated the injury in that contest, and was back on the shelf against the Tennessee Titans.
Hudson worked with the first unit during practice periods open to the media. He missed Wednesday’s padded practice, the most physical effort of the week.
Getting Hudson back would help the protection against a difficult Chiefs front featuring defensive tackle Dontari Poe.
Safety Charles Woodson also returned to practice after missing his customary Wednesday off.
Cornerback Keith McGill missed his second straight day. Linebacker Neiron Ball remains and didn’t do any side work as he reportedly did a day before. .
The participation report for both teams will be released later Thursday. Check back for a full list of injury updates.
Cornerback Neiko Thorpe was added to Thursday’s participation report. He was limited with a knee injury. Running back Taiwan Jones was limited for a second straight day
