ALAMEDA -- The Raiders have sold enough general tickets to avoid a local television blackout for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers at O.co Coliseum.
The team made that announcement on Thursday afternoon, the deadline to lift the blackout.
The Raiders have sold out every game over the past two years, including the preseason.
Kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m. and will be televised on CBS affiliates in Raiders home markets, including KPIX Ch. 5 in the Bay Area.
The FCC ruled last week that it would not support the NFL blackout policy and mandate that stations follow the league-mandated edict, but the NFL policy remains intact. While not enforced by the FCC, affiliates are expected to follow NFL rules to ensure a solid relationship with a product that generates massive ratings.
