GREEN BAY, Wis. –- The Raiders received some news suggesting linebacker Sio Moore’s neck injury isn’t as bad as it looked.
The second-year pro was released from an area hospital and allowed to join his team at Lambeau Field after a 31-21 preseason loss to the Green Bay Packers. He was able to fly home early Saturday morning local time with his team.
Moore walked through the locker room with a large, firm neck brace, much to the delight of teammates who feared the worst as Moore lay face down on the turf for several minutes before being taken off the field on a stretcher.

Moore was not available for comment.
Moore was struck in the back of the neck and shoulder by Packers fullback John Kuhn and subsequently taken from the field to an area hospital. X-rays were negative, and Moore was initially diagnosed with a neck strain.
“That’s a positive sign,” head coach Dennis Allen said. “…I don’t know what kind of timeline that entails, but the most encouraging thing is that Sio is fine.”
It was an unsettling time for Moore’s teammates because of the nature of the injury.

“It’s always a scary situation, especially when you hear a player say their neck is hurt on the field,” veteran free safety Charles Woodson said. “I’ve seen it a couple times, and it never gets any easier. I don’t think anyone wants to play right away after something like that. Hopefully he’ll be fine and that he’ll be able to get back soon.”
In other injury news, Allen said that running back Kory Sheets suffered an Achilles injury, the extent of which he did not know. Right tackle Menelik Watson suffered a hip flexor injury in the second quarter and did not return.
It was announced during the game that middle linebacker Nick Roach and cornerback Tarell Brown suffered concussions.
