SANTA CLARA -- Akeem Springs had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Milwaukee rallied back from a double-digit deficit to defeat Santa Clara 71-65 on Sunday.
Springs scored 13 in the second half on 3-of-3 shooting and made 6 of 7 free throws. Austin Arians scored all 14 of his points in the second for Milwaukee (3-0), including the first 5 points of a 12-0 run with 5:47 left that separated the two teams for good.
Matt Hubbard's dunk gave Santa Clara (0-3) an 11-point lead with 1:38 to go in the first half. But the Broncos committed 19 fouls in the second half, and the Panthers hit 19 free throws.
