The Kings fired head coach Michael Malone late Sunday night, according to multiple reports.
Sacramento opened the season winning nine of its first 14 games, but the Kings are just 2-8 over their last 10 contests.
Star center DeMarcus Cousins has missed the past nine games with viral meningitis.
He was averaging 23.5 points and 12.6 rebounds per game.
Malone went 28-54 last year, his first as the franchise's head coach.
According to Yahoo Sports, assistant Ty Corbin will take over on an interim basis.
Corbin was the head coach of the Utah Jazz for the final 28 games of the 2010-11 campaign, and the subsequent three seasons.
The Kings' next game is Tuesday night in Sacramento against Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
