The Giants have signed veteran pitcher Alfredo Aceves to a minor league deal, according to Baseball America.
The 32-year-old made 10 relief appearances for the Yankees in 2014, posting a 6.52 ERA in 19.1 innings.
In 204 career games over parts of seven seasons, Aceves has a 3.83 ERA and 282 strikeouts in 380.1 innings pitched.
The native of Mexico has experience as a reliever and a starter. In the minors last season, Aceves made five starts and two relief appearances, and has made 15 starts during his major league career.
In 2009, Aceves had a 10-1 record with a 3.54 ERA as a reliever for the Yankees. While serving as the Red Sox's closer in 2012, he notched 25 saves, but also had a 5.36 ERA.
