The Giants have a new left fielder. San Francisco signed Nori Aoki to a one-year deal worth $4 million that includes an additional $1.5 in possible performance bonuses on Friday, according to a San Francisco Chronicle report.
It reportedly includes a $5.5 million club option for the 2016 season.
Aoki, 33, hit .285 with a .349 on-base percentage over 132 games for the Royals last season -- his third in the majors.
A high-contact, low-strikeout batter, Aoki led the National League with 140 singles and an average of 14.9 at-bats per strikeout in 2013.
He is coming off a one-year, $1.95 million contract with Kansas City, where he helped the team to the World Series before falling to the Giants in Game 7.
Aoki was 1-for-14 (.071) in the World Series and hit .195 over 14 postseason games last year.
