The Giants have designated Chris Dominguez for assignment in order to make room for Ryan Vogelsong, according to MLB.com's transaction page.
Dominguez appeared in eight games last season for the Giants and had 18 plate appearances. He hit 1 HR and 2 RBI.
The Giants selected the 28-year old in the third round of the 2009 draft.
In six seasons in the minor leagues, he batted .269, hit 91 HR and 420 RBI.
