Jon Lester will not be coming to San Francisco, but the Giants are wasting no time in their pursuit of starting pitching as they are now targeting Phillies ace Cole Hamels, according to an ESPN report.
The Red Sox and Dodgers -- both of which also missed out on Lester when he signed with the Cubs -- are also reportedly going after Hamels.
Hamels, 30, went 9-9 with a 2.46 ERA in 30 starts for the Phillies last season. A three-time All-Star, Hamels has spent his entire nine-year career in Philadelphia.
