PHILADELPHIA -- In an odd way, Joe Panik initially thought Matt Moore had done him a favor when he hit him in the head weeks ago in Tampa Bay. Panik had two strikes on him and the bases-loaded hit-by-pitch brought a run home.
When the Giants got back from that road trip, Panik went on the DL with a concussion resulting from that pitch, but he said Tuesday that there are absolutely "no ill feelings" toward his new teammate. Panik and Moore had a quick and friendly chat.
"It's one of those things I was thinking about coming over here," Moore said on his first day in a new clubhouse. "I was pretty upset with myself (when it happened). I'm glad he wound up being OK. I don't even know if I looked for the first five or 10 seconds. I wasn't sure where it got him."
Panik said he knew all along that there was no intent because of the game situation.
"It's all good," he said, smiling. "We're teammates now."
