Giants outfielder and leadoff man Nori Aoki was placed on the seven-day disabled list, the team announced Thursday.
Aoki had been struck in the head by a high pitch in a game against the Chicago Cubs.
Aoki was pulled after four innings of Wednesday’s 2-0 loss to the Houston Astros and was showing signs of a concussion. After getting hit in the head by a pitch Sunday, Aoki passed a concussion test the next day and passed further tests on Tuesday. But Bochy said Aoki felt lightheaded and dizzy in the early innings Wednesday.
Aoki joins notables Joe Panik, Angel Pagan, Andrew Susac, Tim Lincecum, Tim Hudson and Mike Leake on the Giants' disabled list.
Ryan Lollis was recalled from the River Cats as a corresponding move.
