The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced on Thursday that San Francisco Giants Minor League outfielder Chuckie Jones has received a 50-game suspension without pay following a second positive test for a drug of abuse in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
The suspension of Jones, who is currently on the roster of the Single-A San Jose Giants of the California League, is effective immediately.
Over five seasons in the minors, Jones has a .238 average to go along with a .323 on-base percentage and 39 home runs.
He hit .256 with a career-high 15 home runs playing in high-A ball in 2014.
