The Giants and Cubs will resume their rain-shortened affair from Tuesday in the middle of the fifth inning after San Francisco won the first protest to be upheld in 28 years.

Yusmeiro Petit will take the ball for the Giants, according to Insider Andrew Baggarly, when he faces a pinch hitter for Tsuyoshi Wada to start the bottom of the fifth with the Cubs leading 2-0.
