Multiple outlets suggested that the two teams were close to a deal earlier on Friday.

The 32-year-old McGehee hit .287 with 29 doubles, four home runs and 76 RBI in 2014 for the Marlins.
McGehee is arbitration-eligible and according to MLB Trade Rumors' projections, is expected to make $3.5 million in 2015.
