OAKLAND – Josh Reddick was scratched from the A’s lineup Tuesday with more lower back tightness, the same issue that forced him from Sunday’s game.
He sat out Monday but was written back in the lineup Tuesday against the Orioles. The announcement of Reddick being scratched came shortly after the A’s finished batting practice, so it can be assumed his back acted up again during his pregame work.
In his afternoon media session, manager Bob Melvin said Reddick was “probably not 100 percent, but close.”
Mark Canha is now making his first career start in right field, though he has appeared in two games there this season.
