John Axford is new to the Oakland A's bullpen, but he's no stranger to the Oscars.
Before signing with the New York Yankees as an amateur free agent in 2006, Axford graduated from Notre Dame with a B.A. in Film and Television. And like all movie buffs, Axford pays close attention to the Oscars every year.
The last three years, Axford has crushed his predictions for the film world's biggest night. Axford has gone 49 of 57 in correct picks after going 14-for-15 in 2013, a perfect 18-for-18 in 2014, and then chose every category last year, finishing 17-for-24.
For comparison, the reliever has 35 saves in the last three years, though he wasn't a closer in 2013 and saved 35 games the season before.
