Mayor Jean Quan and Oakland city officials are working to keep both the A's and Raiders organizations in the city of Oakland.
The Alameda County Board of Supervisors approved the 10-year lease extension with the Oakland A's at the Coliseum on Tuesday. It was the third stage of approval needed after the Oakland City Council and the Joint Powers Authority -- which operates the Coliseum – had previously signed off on the original deal.

Mayor Quan shared her thoughts on the A's lease extension after the Board of Supervisors approved of the extension:
The 10-year lease extension for the A's includes a commitment from the team's owners to sit down to talk building a new Oakland ballpark.

Later that same day, reports surfaced that Raiders owner Mark Davis met with San Antonio city officials about the possibilty of the Raiders relocating to the Alamodome.

Mayor Quan responded by reaffirming the continued progress the city of Oakland is striving to make with the Raiders:
We are making continued progress at the table with the Raiders and the world's third-largest real estate firm talking about Coliseum City.

Oakland is working to help build new ballparks for both the Raiders and the A's, and we're seeing progress on both fronts.
