Former A's infielder Nick Punto has agreed to a minor league contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks with an invitation to their big league spring training camp, the club announced on Wednesday.
Punto, 37, played one season for the Athletics where he finished with a .207 batting average with two homers and a .589 OPS in 73 games with Oakland in 2014.
Punto is guaranteed $2.75 million for the 2015 from the A's, who released him in December.
The 14-year major league veteran has played 1,163 games with Philadelphia (2001-2003), Minnesota (2004-2010), St. Louis (2011), Boston (2012), Los Angeles-NL (2012-13) and Oakland (2014) and is a .245 career hitter with 19 home runs, 263 RBI and 104 stolen bases.
