OAKLAND -– The Oakland A’s reinstated right-handed pitcher Taylor Thompson from the 60-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Nashville, the club announced today.
Thompson began the season on the 60-day DL as he was added Feb. 26 with a strained right shoulder.
He began a rehab assignment with Single-A Stockton July 20 and was 0-2 with a 14.54 ERA in four relief appearances with the Ports. Thompson was transferred to Nashville Aug. 1 and allowed three unearned runs in 3.1 innings in three games. He was 1-2 with a 8.22 ERA and .273 opponents batting average in seven appearances overall. He walked four and struck out 10 in 7.2 innings.
