Running back Marcus Lattimore informed the 49ers on Wednesday of his decision to retire from the NFL.
The former star from South Carolina went through extensive rehabilitation from a horrific knee injury, but could not get back to where he was.
After making his announcement to the league, Lattimore's peers reached out.
