The 49ers have made no effort to re-sign cornerback Perrish Cox, a source close to the free agent told CSNBayArea.com Friday night.
Cox made visits this week to meet with coaches and officials with Washington, Cleveland and Tennessee. He has yet to reach an agreement on contract terms, but he is not likely to return to the 49ers, the source said.
The 49ers on Friday hosted San Diego Chargers free-agent cornerback Shareece Wright. Earlier in the day, former 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver signed a four-year contract with Washington.
Cox, 28, a four-year NFL veteran, started a career-high 14 games last season and led the 49ers with five interceptions. The 49ers led the NFL with 23 interceptions.
