With Robert Griffin III's release all but a formality at this point, a final—but important—hurdle has been cleared, according to a report.
Griffin, who turned 26 on Friday, has passed his exit physical, thus clearing the way for the Redskins to part ways with the former face of the franchise, according to NFL Network’s Albert Breer.
Griffin’s $16.155 million salary in 2016 is guaranteed for injury only.
It’s now seemingly a matter of when, not if, Griffin will be cut and free to sign with another team.
When that move will actually happen, though, remains unclear.
