The Patriots defeated the Seahawks 28-24 in Super Bowl XLIX, and during New England's championship parade on Wednesday, Bay Area native Julian Edelman was keen to call out Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman.
Edelman, atop a float in the parade, was handed a massive photo of Sherman holding up the No. 4 with the text: "How many rings does Brady have?"
When Doug Baldwin beat Darrelle Revis for a touchdown that put the Seahawks up 24-14 in the third quarter, Sherman was seen on the sidelines mouthing "24" while making a "2" and a "4" with his fingers.
Whether Sherman was calling out the fact the Seahawks had scored 24 points or the fact that Revis -- No. 24 -- was beat for a touchdown remains up for debate, but there was plenty of banter before the game about who was the NFL's best cover cornerback -- Sherman or Revis.
Either way, Edelman, who caught nine passes for 109 yards and the game-winning touchdown in the Super Bowl, left his mark on the lasting image of Sherman on Wednesday.
