Detectives from the San Jose Police Department have not yet concluded their investigation of Ray McDonald on suspicion of felony domestic violence charges, the Santa Clara District Attorney's office announced on Friday.
A tentative court date set for Monday, Sept. 29 was canceled and there will be no new court date set "unless or until" charges are filed.
When complete, investigators will present their report to the DA after more than four weeks of conducting interviews and collecting evidence.
The 49ers defensive lineman was arrested at his San Jose home in the early morning hours of Aug. 31 following a reported altercation with his fiancée. The incident happened following a party McDonald hosted to celebrate his 30th birthday. Many of his teammates were at the residence at the time of his arrest.
McDonald was taken into custody without incident and released a few hours later after posting $25,000 bail.
