49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick welcomed a player Thursday that spent the 2012-13 seasons trying to plant him in the ground, and that's former Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett.
Kaepernick's message read: "Welcome to the bay big homie let's eat! @dockett90 #7tormsComing #HeDontGetTiredEither"
Dockett, who turns 34 years old in May, agreed to a two-year, $7.5 million deal with the 49ers on March 5.
Aside from the veteran defender sacking Kaepernick in Week 6 of the 2013 season in San Francisco, the two have a bit of a connection.
After learning of Dockett's season-ending ACL injury this past year, the 49ers quarterback responded via Instagram.
"Prayers up for @dockett90 it hurt me to hear about this!" Kaepernick wrote. "Great respect for him because of the way he works!"
