SANTA CLARA -- Coach Jim Harbaugh caught a glimpse of linebacker NaVorro Bowman’s rehab and was encouraged by what he saw.
Bowman, a first-team All-Pro selection each of the past three seasons, revealed on Thursday that he has been sprinting for two days. He underwent surgery on Feb. 4 to repair a torn ACL, which he sustained in the NFC Championship game.
“I must admit there are times I’ll look out the peripheral vision and see them doing their workouts on the turf over there,” Harbaugh said on Friday. “It looked like he was moving pretty good. So that was very positive. His attitude is great. Every time you ask him about it, he feels like it’s progressing well.”
Bowman is on reserve/physically unable to perform, making him ineligible to practice or play in the first six weeks of the regular season. The 49ers are hoping Bowman will be able to play at some point in the second half of the season.
