Rookie defensive lineman Arik Armstead, the 49ers’ first-round draft pick, finally has his permanent jersey number.
Armstead takes over No. 91 after wearing No. 69 throughout training camp and the 49ers’ four exhibition games. He posted a photo of his new jersey on Instagram.
That jersey was previously worn by Glenn Dorsey, who surrendered No. 90 to Darnell Dockett upon his signing in March. Dorsey moves back to No. 90.
Running back Mike Davis and linebacker Shayne Skov also posted their newly issued jerseys. Davis will wear No. 22, while Skov takes over No. 56.
Davis and cornerback Kenneth Acker both wore No. 20 through training camp. Acker will remain No. 20. Skov and tight end Rory “Busta” Anderson both wore No. 48 in camp. Offensive lineman Dillon Farrell, who previously wore No. 56, was waived on Saturday.
