Player: Anderson Varejao
Height/weight: 6-11, 273
2015-16 in review: After spending most of the season with the Cavaliers, Varejao came over in February and did enough rebounding and defending to convince the Warriors he was worthy of another deal. His numbers didn’t dazzle – they never have – but he at times was a nice option at backup center.
2016-17 outlook: There will be games when Varejao never leaves the bench. There also will be games when he absolutely must enter and contribute – not to score, but to bang the glass and jolt the team on those rare nights when they appear lethargic. It will be interesting to see how much playing time he’ll get if rookie Damian recovers from injury and is able to help.
Floor: His legs run completely out of bounce and he fails to last the season.
Ceiling: He’s active as a caffeinated bear, providing an energy boost in spot minutes.
