Editor's note: This article is part of a continuing series in which Insider Monte Poole highlights a different Warriors player every day leading up to the 2014-15 season opener on Oct. 29
Contract status: The Warriors picked up the option on the third and final season of the three-year deal Green signed as a second-round draft pick in 2012.
Though the Warriors consider him a part of their future and have expressed a desire to re-sign him, Green will become a restricted free agent in July.
2013-14 in review: Green came to training camp in terrific condition, improved his overall game and became the team's most reliable option off the bench.
He added a 3-point jump shot that, while inconsistent, must be defended.
Moreover, at 6-7, he is a defensive demon who harasses opposing power forwards and specializes at producing in any area where the Warriors seem deficient at any particular time.
2014-15 outlook: Smart, fearless and relentless, Green was in many ways a disciple of former coach Mark Jackson and the two men shared a special bond.
Green, however, is the kind of player who can win over any coach. He possesses a bucket filled with intangibles and is willing to do whatever it takes to win.
He projects to once again be an impact player off the bench.
