The 80s had the short shorts. On Feb. 22 the Warriors will ring in the era of short sleeves.
The Warriors plan to unveil the first modern short-sleeved NBA uniforms Friday, Feb. 22 against the San Antonio Spurs. They'll be worn again on Friday, March 8 against the Houston Rockets and Friday, March 15 against the Chicago Bulls.
“When adidas began working with us to develop the short sleeve jersey, I couldn’t wait to wear it in a game," Harrison Barnes was quoted saying. "I love the fit and style the sleeves give me on the court.”
The "adizero short sleeve NBA Uniform System" is a reported 26 percent lighter than the Warriors' current jerseys and the team's lightest ever uniform. They are paired with the first-ever super lightweight stretch woven short. The uniform is made from 60 percent recycled materials.
In addition to the Warriors, Yahoo! Sports Marc Spears via Twitter that "several adidas schools will wear short sleeve compression jersey this season, including possibly Indiana, Louisville, UCLA, Kansas, Baylor."
