Steve Kerr, a candidate for four NBA coaching jobs, including that of replacing Mark Jackson with the Warriors, could be very close to a decision. According to a report from the New York Post, the Knicks remain the favorites to land Kerr, while the Warriors remain in the back of his mind.
Kerr is hoping to wrap up proceedings Friday, according to multiple sources, and is leaning toward the Knicks over the Warriors due to Jackson’s allure ... Kerr thought he would have a formal offer by Wednesday, according to the source, as [Phil] Jackson already had indicated he wants him for the job. The Knicks were expected to deliver a proposal no later than Friday ... “His first choice is to be with Phil, but if it doesn’t work out contract-wise, he’d be very interested in Golden State as a fall-back,’’ the source said.
It appears that something will be finalized sooner rather than later.
