SACRAMENTO – At 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, reserve guard Kent Bazemore was standing in the hallway outside the visiting locker room stretching in his Warriors jersey.
An hour later, he was absent, sent away along with backup guard MarShon Brooks to the Lakers for veteran guard Steve Blake.
The trade, first reported by Yahoo! Sports, was confirmed within minutes by several CSN Bay Area sources.
It's a smart deal for the Warriors simply because they moved two players from the far end of their bench for one who can enter their rotation and play meaningful minutes.
Blake, who turns 34 on Feb. 26, is a pure point guard who can shoot the 3-pointer. He is averaging 9.5 points and 7.6 assists per game.
Blake left Los Angeles prior to Wednesday's game against the Rocket, while neither Bazemore nor Brooks took the floor for the Warriors-Kings game at Sleep Train Arena.
