The Warriors have spent the summer sifting through basketball’s bargain basement in search of low-cost shooters to invite to training camp next month. They found one this week.
The NBA champs have reached an agreement with Jarell Eddie, a 6-foot-7 wing who in February defeated Seth Curry to win the NBA Development League’s 3-point shootout.
Eddie has not yet signed an official pact – almost certainly non-guaranteed – and might not be signed until next month, CSN Bay Area has confirmed.

As a member of the Austin Spurs, Eddie gave the Santa Cruz Warriors a first-hand look at his form. The Virginia Tech product torched them for seven bombs in a game late last season.
Eddie shot 43 percent from deep for Austin after shooting 37 percent from distance during his four-year career with the Hokies.
He also averaged 9.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.1 assist and 25.8 minutes per game over his college career, including 13.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.6 3-pointers as a senior.
Eddie expected to compete with Ian Clark for a spot to fill out the Warriors’ roster.
