Steph Curry is more than just a basketball player. He's a businessman.
On June 16, the Warriors lost Game 6 of the NBA Finals to the Cavs.
The applications are for "Steph Curry," "Stephen Curry," "Chef Curry" and "Curry."
As Darren Heitner of Forbes points out:
"Each application was filed with an intent to use the marks in conjunction with a wide array of products and services. No specimens showing use of the marks in commerce have been filed, and Curry will not receive registrations unless and until he shows proof of use.
Additionally, Curry failed to accompany the applications with a written consent personally signed by him, which will be necessary for any of the names and nicknames to register."
Curry will not be playing for Team USA in the upcoming Olympics.
He is under contract with the Warriors for one more season, and is set to become an unrestricted free agent in July 2017.
