Parents slap Warriors' Thompson with second fine

Warriors guard Klay Thompson is getting "fined" by more than one "governing body" this week.

Klay's parents, Mychal -- the No. 1 overall pick in the 1978 NBA Draft -- and Julie control their son's finances. In addition to the $35K fine levied against Thompson for his involvement in the Warriors' brawl in Indiana Tuesday, his parents are taking a cut from his weekly stipend. Mychal revealed that info over the Los Angeles airwaves Wednesday when he said on his radio show that the younger Thompson wouldn't be receiving his full $300 paycheck this week.

“He will [figure it out] when he sees that cash envelope show up a little short this week,” said Mychal, a two-time NBA champion in his own right.

Mychal, while watching the ruckus unfold, was hoping Klay wouldn't lose his temper and get involved.

"Then Roy Hibbert turned his back & [Klay] was like ‘now’s my chance’!" Mychal said. “I was like ‘you idiot’!”

Klay has averaged 14.2 points per game in his two-year NBA career, .5 points better than father Mychal's 13.7 per-game average over his 12-year NBA career.
