After setting a league record for most points in a quarter and scoring a career-high 52 points, Klay Thompson had plenty of people talking after his historic night Friday.
It was after the game, Klay received a phone call from his father Mychal Thompson, who played for the Los Angeles Lakers for five seasons (1987-1991) and is now the organization's radio color commentator.
Among what Mychal Thompson said to his son Klay on the phone after the plane landed? "Now you know what it feels like to be Kobe." #37— Mike Trudell (@MikeTrudell) January 24, 2015
Mychal was on the Lakers' team plane heading back to Los Angeles from San Antonio and was watching his son's performance on his phone.

Growing up a Lakers fan, Klay idolized Kobe Bryant and seems to draw motivation whenever he plays against the five-time NBA champ. Back on November 1, just 27 hours after signing a $70 million contract extension, Thompson scored a career-high 41 points while staring down his idol to help the Warriors beat the Lakers 127-104.
Thompson is averaging 22.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game this season.
